KZN School Transport Crash Leaves 20 Pupils Injured As Minibus Driver Flees Scene

A school transport tragedy unfolded in KwaZulu-Natal when a minibus taxi carrying pupils veered off KwaKhetha Bridge in Mpendle. The accident left 20 children seriously injured.
Authorities confirmed that the driver of the minibus fled the crash site immediately after the vehicle plunged off the bridge.

Police have launched a manhunt to track him down. The incident marks the third scholar transport accident in the Umgungundlovu District within just four days.
Transport MEC Demands Action from Santaco

KwaZulu-Natal Transport MEC Siboniso Duma has called on the South African National Taxi Council (Santaco) to urgently address safety issues within the industry.
“We cannot allow a situation where our children’s lives are put at risk every single day,” Duma said, pressing for stricter measures to prevent further tragedies.
