KZN Man, Sibusiso Lawrence, Found Dead After Confessing To Murder In Viral Video

A KwaZulu-Natal man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend and sharing a chilling confession video on social media has been found dead. The man, identified as Sibusiso Lawrence, sparked outrage after the video went viral, in which he admitted to the murder, citing alleged relationship issues and claims linked to money from the Road Accident Fund (RAF).

Sibusiso Lawrence’s Confession Shocks Nation

In the video, Lawrence justified his actions, blaming alleged ill-treatment within the relationship. The shocking footage left viewers horrified and deeply disturbed, as he calmly admitted to the crime.

KZN police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda reported that officers responded to a murder scene on a gravel road in the Malangeni area, Umzinto, on Tuesday.

The body of the victim, a 25-year-old woman, was found in the middle of the road, bearing multiple stab wounds. A broken knife was discovered nearby, and bloodstains inside Lawrence’s abandoned vehicle suggested that the murder took place there.

According to Netshiunda, Lawrence had allegedly picked up his ex-girlfriend from her home. A domestic altercation is believed to have escalated to the brutal killing.

Suicide Discovery

A manhunt for Lawrence was launched immediately after the crime was reported. On Wednesday morning, his body was discovered hanging from a tree in the Malangeni area, not far from where the victim’s body was found.

Netshiunda confirmed that the incident is being investigated as a murder, with an inquest docket also opened to probe the circumstances surrounding Lawrence’s death.
