KwaZulu-Natal Woman Fatally Shot After Being Struck By Vehicle

On Tuesday morning, a tragic event unfolded on the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast, where a woman was not only struck by a motorist but also fatally shot shortly after.

IPSS Medical Rescue reported responding to a shooting incident on the road near Etete, located between Stanger and Ballito.

Details of the Incident

According to IPSS spokesperson Samantha Meyrick, the situation escalated when a motorist, after colliding with another car, returned to the scene and shot the woman before fleeing on foot.

Emergency services were dispatched, and sadly, the woman was declared deceased by paramedics upon their arrival.

Investigation and Community Response

The South African Police Services (SAPS) were promptly on the scene to investigate the shooting. At this stage, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. Traffic on the R102 is likely to be impacted, given that the area has now been designated a crime scene. The SAPS will provide further updates to SurgeZirc SA as the investigation progresses.
