Kwaito Legend Doc Shebeleza In ICU – Family Pleads For Prayers

Kwaito legend Victor Bogopane, known as Doc Shebeleza, is currently in a Johannesburg private hospital’s ICU, undergoing treatment after a sudden health scare. His family has requested that South Africans pray for his recovery.

Family spokesperson Shakes Mavundla expressed surprise at the sudden turn of events, as the 51-year-old had been in good health while preparing for an upcoming event in Soweto. Despite the shock, the family remains hopeful as the artist is set to undergo surgery on Monday.

Second Battle for Doc Shebeleza

This is the second health scare for him in 2024. In June, he was also hospitalised due to an undisclosed health issue, leaving fans and family worried.

The Ebumnandini singer rose to fame in 1996 with his debut album S’Kumfete and has since shaped the kwaito genre. His music continues to resonate with fans, while his philanthropic work through the organisation Amaha supports fellow artists in need.
