Killer Cop Rosemary Ndlovu Convicted In Murder Plot Against Co-Accused’s Husband

Former Rosemary Ndlovu and her co-accused, Nomsa Mudau, have been convicted by the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court on charges of incitement to commit murder.

The conviction relates to a 2018 plot to kill Mudau’s husband. Sentencing proceedings have been scheduled for July.

Rosemary Ndlovu Convicted Over 2018 Murder Plot

During the trial, the court heard that Ndlovu allegedly contacted hitmen to help carry out the planned killing of Mudau’s husband.

Evidence presented in court revealed that Mudau allegedly wanted her husband murdered because she claimed he was abusive and involved in affairs outside their marriage.

The court also heard that Mudau allegedly promised to pay the hitmen after claiming insurance money following her husband’s death.

Hitmen Reported Plot To Intended Victim

The planned murder was never carried out after the hitmen reportedly informed the intended victim, Justice Mudau, about the plot against him.

Justice Mudau subsequently opened a criminal case with the South African Police Service, leading to the arrest of both accused.

The State argued that Ndlovu played a key role by arranging contact with the hitmen and facilitating communication between the parties. Prosecutors also said Mudau repeatedly requested that her husband be killed.

Ndlovu is already serving six life sentences after she was convicted in 2021 for the murders of five relatives between 2012 and 2018.

The former Tembisa SAPS officer was found guilty of killing family members to benefit from funeral and life insurance payouts amounting to approximately R1.4 million.

The court postponed the latest matter to 15 July for the compilation of pre-sentence reports and sentencing proceedings.
