Kharishma’s Family Breaks Silence As Star Fights For Her Life After Tragic Car Crash

The family of Limpopo star Melita “Kharishma” Mogale has finally spoken out following the devastating car accident that left the Lekompo hitmaker critically injured on Friday morning, 31 October 2025.

The horrific crash occurred at the intersection of Grobler and Magazyn Streets in Polokwane, claiming one life and leaving Kharishma hospitalised in serious condition.

Family Confirms Kharishma is Still Fighting for Her Life

Speaking to reporters, family spokesperson Nthekgeng Mogale confirmed that the 21-year-old musician is still receiving medical attention at Polokwane Hospital and remains in a critical but stable condition.

“Kharishma is fighting for her life. She’s receiving good care at the hospital, and as a family, we are trusting God for her recovery,” said Nthekgeng.
“We are asking for privacy and continued prayers during this difficult time.”

The family also expressed gratitude to fans and fellow artists who have been sending messages of support and wishing Kharishma a speedy recovery.

A Promising Career Interrupted by Tragedy

Kharishma, who rose to fame with hits that dominated Limpopo airwaves and even bagged the 2024 Song of the Year on Thobela FM and Capricorn FM, has faced several personal and professional storms in her young career.

Earlier this year, she made headlines after reports surfaced that she had been allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend. Despite that, the vibrant star had begun focusing on her music again — recently previewing a new collaboration with DJ Tira that had fans buzzing.

Tragically, her promising momentum was cut short by Friday morning’s accident, which took place around 4 AM. Reports indicate that one of the passengers in her vehicle died at the scene, while Kharishma was rushed to hospital with serious injuries.
