Should We Call It “Old and Famous”? Khanyi Mbau Returns To Netflix’s “Young, Famous And African”!

So here’s the thing, guys – Netflix’s “Young, Famous and African” is back, and Khanyi Mbau is making her grand return! But can we just take a moment and ask why are we calling these oldies “young”? I mean, WTF?

Our favourite South African socialite and media personality, Khanyi Mbau, just teased her fans with news about her return to TV. She dropped a teaser video on Instagram with the caption: “I think it’s time … Miss me? #OOOwithNetflix.” Yeah, Khanyi, we did miss you, but let’s be real – you’re 39 now. How do we call a 39-year-old “young”?

The “Young” Cast

Besides Khanyi, who’s nearly hitting the big 4-0, we’ve got Naked DJ from South Africa, who’s almost 50! Come on, guys! And let’s not forget Kefilwe Mabote, the newbie joining the season at 35. Not so young anymore, hey?

From Nigeria, the Idia family is pushing 50, Ini Edo is over 40 already, and then there’s Diamond Platnumz representing Tanzania with his 44-year-old baby mama. Really, Netflix? Where are the real young stars like Natasha Thahane, Cindy Mahlangu, Ama Qamata, or even Mihlali?

  • Tanzanian music sensation Diamond Platnumz

  • South African Influencer Kefilwe Mabote
