Katlego Maboe’s Ex Monique Muller Arrested Over Alleged Gun Possession — And He’s Out Here Vibing

Monique Muller, the ex-partner and baby mama of television presenter Katlego Maboe, has been arrested in connection with the alleged possession of an illegal firearm.

The 35-year-old was taken into custody on 19 October 2025 in Ravensmead, Cape Town, alongside five other suspects. Police confirmed that Muller faces charges of illegal possession of a firearm, and while there are whispers that the case could be tied to gang-related activity, investigations are still ongoing.

Monique appeared in the Cape Town Magistrates’ Court on 21 October, where her case was postponed to 30 October for further proceedings. She remains behind bars until then.

Katlego Maboe Dancing While Monique’s in Court? The Internet Is Losing It

On the very same day that Monique was making her first court appearance, her ex Katlego Maboe was… vibing.

The presenter and musician took to Instagram with a cheerful video, captioned “New day energy! Have a great one!” — showing himself two-stepping and shimmying to Olivia Dean’s Man I Need.

Social media couldn’t help but connect the dots. While Monique was in court, Katlego was literally dancing into the new day — leaving fans wondering if the timing was purely coincidence or a subtle “God’s timing” flex.

His video thumbnail — featuring him with a shocked look and his hand on his head — only added fuel to the fire. One follower commented, “Not Katlego dancing while his ex is facing gun charges 😭😭😭 timing had no mercy!” Another said, “The irony is wild — from losing everything to this comeback energy!”

From Scandal to Redemption Arc?

The arrest marks yet another dramatic chapter in the Maboe–Muller saga that first gripped Mzansi back in 2020, when Monique accused Katlego of infidelity and abuse. The fallout cost him major presenting gigs — including Expresso Morning Show — and several endorsement deals.

However, in the years since, Katlego has slowly rebuilt his reputation, returning to television and music while keeping his private life out of the headlines.

Police have made it clear that Monique’s current legal troubles have nothing to do with her past relationship with Katlego. Still, social media users couldn’t resist revisiting their history — and the irony of the situation wasn’t lost on anyone.

As for Monique, all eyes will be on her next court appearance on 30 October. While Katlego’s out here choosing joy, not drama — and the internet is watching every dance move.
