Justice For Cwecwe: Two More Rape Cases Emerge In Matatiele Area

The recent rape of a 7-year-old Cwecwe, at Bergview College pupil in Matatiele, Eastern Cape, has revealed more details of assault perpetrated in the area
Eastern Cape social development MEC Bukiwe Fanta has disclosed that there were two other similar rape cases in the same area, involving a 6-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl.

Government Vows to Take Action
Minister of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities Sindisiwe Chikunga has condemned the Cwecwe rape incidents, stating that the government will do everything in its power to support the victims and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Chikunga plans to visit private schools in the area to interview children and get to the bottom of the scourge.
Frustration Over Delays In Justice
Fanta expressed frustration over the delays in justice, urging the justice system to speed up the Cwecwe’s rape case.
