South Africa is hurting all over again. Kye, the son of late rapper and TikTok star Junior King, has left Mzansi deep in their feelings after sharing a heartbreaking update following the tragic car crash that claimed his father’s life.

Junior King, born Dugulth Ferreira, passed away at the scene of a horrific accident on the N1 near Verkeerdevlei on Thursday, 11 December 2025. He was travelling with his children Kaliah and Kye, whom he shared with Aquilla Frost, when tragedy struck.

Tragic Crash That Shattered Junior King’s Family

The accident didn’t just take a life — it changed many forever. Kaliah, Junior King’s daughter, sustained broken legs, underwent surgery, and will have to learn how to walk again.

Kye survived but was left injured, emotionally scarred, and now grieving the sudden loss of his father.

“I Am Very Traumatised” — Kye Shares His Painful Recovery

On Monday, 5 January 2026, Kye bravely opened up in a video, sharing how his body may be healing — but his heart isn’t.

He revealed that injuries on his neck and arm have healed, while his leg is still sore, but the emotional pain runs much deeper.

“I am very traumatised, and I am very sad. My body still hurts, my leg is just sore right now… my scar has already healed,” Kye shared, pointing out where his injuries once were.

Despite everything, Kye took a moment to thank Junior King’s fans for the overwhelming love and support shown to his family since the accident.

A Dream, A Message & A Father’s Love That Lives On

What truly broke Mzansi?  Kye revealed that his late father appeared to him in a dream, delivering a message that left many in tears.

“He actually said that he loves me and is gonna be in me and Laeeqa,” Kye said.

He explained that Laeeqa Ferreira, Junior King’s sister, will be working with him on music going forward — a sign that Junior King’s legacy may continue through his son.
