Julius Malema Backs Duduzile Zuma After MK Party Expulsion

EFF leader Julius Malema has publicly backed Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla following her expulsion from the MK Party.

The party announced on Thursday that Zuma-Sambudla and former national spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhlela had been expelled with immediate effect. The decision was taken after the party concluded that their conduct was inconsistent with its constitution and organisational principles.

MK Party spokesperson Sibonelo Nomvalo said the pair had acted in ways that conflicted with the party’s values, discipline and interests.

MK Party Expels Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla And Nhlamulo Ndhlela

The MK Party said Zuma-Sambudla’s public comments and activity on social media played a key role in the decision to remove her from the organisation.

According to Nomvalo, her repeated posts and statements weakened unity within the party and encouraged factional divisions.

The expulsion marks the latest development in ongoing tensions within the party, which has faced internal disagreements in recent months.

Julius Malema Offers Support To Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla

Following the announcement, Malema shared a message of support for Zuma-Sambudla, praising her resilience.

“Nothing new, you have seen it all and still emerged victorious. I won’t ask you to be strong because I know you are strong; you have been strong since you were a young girl, dealing with adult issues.”

His comments came shortly after Zuma-Sambudla responded publicly to her removal from the MK Party.

“They can expel me as an ordinary member of MK, but they can’t expel me from being a founding member of MK…A Libertarian agenda cannot be hijacked by rejected politicians whose aim is to drive narrow-minded capitalist agendas.

“The people must decide whether they submit to politics or fight for Liberation!!! Signed: A founding member of MK,” she wrote.

Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla Defends Her Role In MK Party

In a separate post on X, Zuma-Sambudla suggested that some party leaders wanted former president Jacob Zuma to turn against his own family.

“View from an ordinary member of MK, 2 Kings 6:29, so these leaders want President Zuma to eat his own children, and then they go home and play with theirs, protect them and keep them safe … make it make sense!!!

“I am the biggest project of these leaders, and one of the places they meet and discuss me and peddle lies against me is Hillcrest!!! Go deeper papa!!! [SIC]”

She also claimed that individuals who joined the MK movement with the intention of sidelining her were not genuinely committed to the party’s liberation agenda.

According to Zuma-Sambudla, such members are driven by personal interests and are acting against the broader objectives of the organisation. She maintained that these actions show they are not working for the benefit of the movement.
