Jubilee Mall Chaos: 30 Armed Robbers Bomb 5 ATMs In Hammanskraal Heist

Hammanskraal’s Jubilee Mall turned into a war zone in the early hours of March 16, when a gang of 30 armed criminals bombed five ATMs, looted a store, and left a security guard wounded in a dramatic shootout with police.
Explosions, Gunfire, and a Daring Escape
According to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, the chaos unfolded at 1:30 AM when the heavily armed gang arrived in a bakkie. A security officer on patrol was ambushed, disarmed, and robbed of his firearm before the attackers stormed the mall.

Inside, they overpowered another security guard, stole his cellphone, and detonated explosives at five ATMs before raiding a store safe.
As they made their escape, police and private security officers arrived at the scene, leading to an intense shootout. The gang opened fire, hitting a security officer, who was later rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Manhunt Launched, Suspects on the Run
Despite the chaos, no arrests have been made yet. Masondo confirmed that police are hunting down the suspects, but the total amount of stolen cash remains unknown.

Jubilee Mall management released a statement on social media, confirming the attack and temporary closure:
“The safety and well-being of our customers, tenants, and employees are our top priority. We are working closely with law enforcement to investigate the incident and are taking immediate action to enhance security measures throughout the mall.”
The brazen attack has reignited fears over rising ATM bombings and mall robberies, with many calling for stricter security measures and harsher penalties for violent criminals.
