Defence Counsel Trends on TikTok

One of the defence counsels, Nobahle Mkabayi, was trending on TikTok over the weekend after a viral video appeared to show her calling Judge Erasmus racist.

The video, recorded after court adjourned, has sparked widespread attention and criticism.

Mkabayi is currently cross-examining Detective Captain Wesley Lombard, the investigating officer in the case.

Boundaries Set In Court

In response to the growing online harassment, Judge Erasmus has set clear boundaries for the media and attendees.

He instructed that no microphones should remain live after adjournment and barred media from the area where legal counsels are seated.

“Failing to adhere to the arrangements, I won’t hesitate to remove people from this court,” Judge Erasmus warned.
