Japan Hit By Magnitude-5 Tremor As Afghanistan Rocked By Powerful Earthquake

A magnitude-5 earthquake jolted Nagano Prefecture in central Japan on Saturday morning, according to broadcaster NHK.

There were no immediate reports of injuries or structural damage following the tremor.

Japan is among the most earthquake-prone nations globally, accounting for roughly 20% of all earthquakes measuring magnitude 6 or higher due to its location along major tectonic plate boundaries.

In a separate ঘটনায়, a powerful earthquake struck parts of Afghanistan, particularly in the mountainous Hindu Kush region.

According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the quake occurred at a depth of 190km, sending residents rushing out of buildings in panic.

Initial reports indicate that several homes and structures have been damaged, especially in remote and hard-to-reach areas.

Emergency teams have launched search and rescue operations as authorities work to assess the full scale of the disaster.
