Umkhokha: The Curse Star Nkanyiso Mchunu Accused Of Abuse By Partner

More drama is unfolding in Mzansi’s entertainment scene, and this time, it involves actor Nkanyiso Mchunu, who is now facing serious allegations of domestic abuse.

The former Umkhokha: The Curse actor is currently under investigation by the South African Police Service (SAPS) after his estranged partner, Masechaba Monnahela, opened a gender-based violence (GBV) case against him.

Love Triangle Turned Ugly?

According to Sunday World, Masechaba claims that the first violent altercation happened in June 2024, when she confronted Nkanyiso about his ex-girlfriend from KwaZulu-Natal visiting him. She alleges that during the confrontation, the actor became physically abusive.

“I went to his house, and I found the girl there. We had an argument, and that is when he [abused] me,” she was quoted saying.

But that wasn’t the only incident. She further revealed that he allegedly abused her on his birthday, and a third woman, who reportedly works on the set of his current production, Ithonga, was also involved in the drama.

“We ended up arguing over this girl, and that is when he abused me again,” she told the publication.

Legal Action Taken

After the latest incident, which allegedly took place over the weekend, Masechaba opened a case at the Diepsloot Police Station. The case has since been transferred to Honeydew Police Station for further investigation.

Nkanyiso, however, remains silent, reportedly refusing to comment as the matter is being handled by the authorities. Meanwhile, Masechaba claims that he is trying to paint her as crazy in order to discredit her allegations.

“He is trying to make me look like a maniac,” she told the media.
