Madadzhe, widely known online for his content creation, pleaded guilty to faking his mother’s death in 2017 to fraudulently claim insurance money.

Judge Rejects Bid for Recusal Before Sentencing in Livhuwani Madadzhe Case
Earlier in the proceedings, Advocate Khuliso Negota, representing Madadzhe, filed a motion seeking Judge Tshidada’s recusal, claiming possible bias in the case.

However, the judge dismissed the application, stating that the influencer’s guilty plea would stand regardless of whether a different judge oversaw sentencing. Judge Tshidada emphasised that changing presiding officers would not alter the outcome of the plea.
