IDAC Operations Chief Matthews Sesoko Abducted, Beaten And Robbed Of Digital Devices

The Investigating Directorate Against Corruption (IDAC)’s head of operations, Matthews Sesoko, was reportedly kidnapped and robbed of his digital devices on Friday night.

According to sources close to the investigation, Sesoko was safely released around 2am after being taken by unknown suspects in Pretoria. His vehicle was later discovered still idling on a remote section of the R25 road in Kempton Park in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Authorities confirmed that Sesoko’s state-issued cellphones and laptop were stolen during the incident.

Connection to Recent Parliamentary Testimony

The shocking incident occurred just days after IDAC head Andrea Johnson appeared before Parliament’s ad hoc committee, delivering key testimony earlier in the week.

Sesoko has been directly involved in high-profile investigations, including the probe that led to the arrest of Crime Intelligence head Dumisani Khumalo and six other senior Crime Intelligence officials in June.

Law enforcement officials are now working to establish the motive behind the abduction and whether it could be linked to Sesoko’s work with IDAC.

The case remains under active investigation, and further details are expected as the story develops.
