Horror M7 Crash: Two Trapped After Trucks Collide Near N2 Ramp, Traffic Gridlocked To Pinetown

Emergency services rushed to the M7 heading towards the Bluff after a serious collision involving two trucks brought traffic to a halt near the N2 north on-ramp.

The crash happened shortly before 11am, according to ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson, who confirmed that rescue teams are still actively working at the scene.

A significant spillage from one of the vehicles has complicated operations, with fire crews attempting to contain the hazard.

Two Occupants Severely Trapped In M7 Crash

“We are currently dealing with two occupants of one of the trucks who are severely entrapped,” said spokesperson Garrith Jamieson.

Firefighters deployed the Jaws of Life and other hydraulic rescue tools to free the trapped occupants.

Paramedics have already removed two injured patients from an overturned truck. They are reported to have sustained moderate to serious injuries and are receiving medical treatment.

Rescue workers continue to focus on extracting the remaining two individuals trapped in a truck positioned in the direction of the Bluff.

Traffic Backed Up to Pinetown as Route Remains Blocked

The collision has caused major disruption, with traffic completely gridlocked.

Jamieson warned that congestion stretches as far back as Pinetown, with the entire route towards the Bluff currently blocked.

“I would advise all motorists to avoid this area at all costs. This is going to be an active scene for quite some time.”

Authorities are urging drivers to use alternative routes while emergency teams continue rescue and clean-up operations.
