Horrific Mpumalanga Car Crash Claims Four Lives, Two Hospitalised

A devastating car accident in Mpumalanga on Sunday morning has resulted in the deaths of four people after a sedan and a light delivery vehicle collided head-on.

Three of the deceased, including the sedan driver, were two males and one female. The fourth victim, a female pedestrian, was discovered near the light delivery vehicle wreckage. All four died at the scene.

Injuries and Emergency Response

The male driver of the light delivery vehicle and a child passenger suffered serious injuries and were transported to a hospital in eMkhondo for urgent medical treatment. Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene.

Authorities Investigate Cause of the Car Crash

Mpumalanga MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Jackie Macie, confirmed that an investigation is ongoing but warned that reckless driving may have contributed to the tragedy.

“Motorists must always be alert on the road. Every driver must obey the rules, prioritise their own safety and that of other road users to avoid needless loss of life and life-changing injuries,” Macie said.

He extended his condolences to the families of the deceased and wished the injured a full recovery.
