Hlomla Dandala Spills Industry Tea: Claims He Was Exploited, Underpaid, And Lied On

Yoh, former The River actor Hlomla Dandala is out here exposing the entertainment industry — and baby, he ain’t holding back.
The actor, who recently made headlines for his alleged new woman, went on Facebook with a now-deleted post where he dragged the whole system, claiming he was done dirty more times than he can count.

“I Was the Lead… But Paid Less Than a Supporting White Actor”
Hlomla says he carried a show on his back for seven seasons as the main lead, but to his shock, a white supporting actor was cashing a bigger cheque than him.
“Consider being the face of a show for years, only to discover you’re not even the highest paid,” he vented. “In other countries, the lead gets the bag AND an executive producer role. Here? You’re just… used.”
Mzansi peeps are side-eyeing this like: Wait, so you were the face, the talent, the drama… but they still played you?

“They Lied On My Name Just To Replace Me” Says Hlomla Dandala
It didn’t stop there. Hlomla also revealed that while hosting a major reality show, he found out he was being underpaid — getting less than half of what the company was telling the channel. To make it worse, he says lies were spread that he thought he was “too big for the show.”
“The channel just took their word and dropped me. No one even asked for my side,” he said.
Now fans are saying it’s giving “finished and fumbled” energy — like how do you go from leading roles to being ghosted by producers over lies?
On the socials, some are dragging the industry for racism and exploitation, while others are side-eyeing Hlomla himself, saying maybe the problem is… Hlomla. One tweep wrote:
“Man has been in everything from Isidingo to The River but keeps getting done dirty? At some point, hle, maybe it’s not just the system…”
Messy!
