Heartfelt Farewells Shared At Funeral Of Slain Mamelodi Cousins

Emotional scenes unfolded in Luckau village outside Groblersdal, Limpopo, on Saturday, as family, friends, and community members gathered to bid farewell to cousins Baleseng and Tshiamo Moramaga, whose lives were tragically cut short.
The two young women were shot and killed in Mamelodi last week, a shocking act that has left their families and community reeling.
It is alleged that the pair were attacked by a man with whom one of them had been romantically involved after a night out. The accused, Tebogo Mnisi, appeared in court earlier this week and abandoned his bail application.

Members of various gender-based violence advocacy groups, including The Voice in Action Organisation, attended the funeral to show solidarity and renew calls for stronger action against femicide in South Africa.
The atmosphere was one of heartbreak mixed with anger, as mourners demanded that authorities take decisive steps to curb the country’s ongoing epidemic of violence against women.
Friends and Family Share Emotional Tributes
During the service, friends and relatives of the Moramaga cousins spoke fondly of their kindness, laughter, and bond that went beyond family ties.
A close friend, Bontle Mahlangu, delivered a moving tribute that left many in tears.
“As I stand here, I’m overwhelmed by memories of my childhood friend Baleseng. We grew up together, played netball and soccer, and prayed together.
