Hawks Crack Down 2 Women On Matric Certificate Fraud

Two (2) women, aged 24 and 31, have been arrested by the Hawks for allegedly falsifying matric certificates in Johannesburg.
The suspects were caught editing a matric certificate issued in 2014, altering the academic results to misrepresent qualifications.

Electronic devices used in the crime, including a computer and a mobile phone, have been seized for further investigation.

Gauteng spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Lloyd Ramovha, commended the officials for the the arrest.

He said, their “relentless drive” is to uphold justice and maintain the integrity of South Africa’s education system.
Provincial head of the Hawks in Gauteng, Major General Ebrahim Kadwa said, crimes like these undermine the credibility of the education system and the hard work of countless South Africans.
Hawks Secure Forfeiture Order In Separate Gold Processing Case

In a separate case, the Hawks have secured a forfeiture order for a Gauteng plot valued at R740,000 after uncovering gold processing activities on the land.

The suspects, including five Zimbabwean nationals, were arrested and detained for contravening the Precious Metals Act.
The matter was referred to the priority crime specialised investigation unit for further investigation and asset forfeiture proceedings.
