Hanover Park Man Dies After Being Stoned And Stabbed By Mob, Attack Captured On Video

Residents of Hanover Park are calling for justice following the death of a man who was violently attacked in an incident captured on video.

The victim died on Friday morning after being assaulted earlier in the week. The disturbing footage, which has been widely shared online, shows a group of attackers carrying out the brutal assault.

Video Shows Violent Assault by Group of Attackers

The clip shows the victim being stoned, stabbed, and beaten by a group believed to be local youths. Large stones and bricks were thrown at him as he struggled to stand.

One attacker is seen holding a knife and stabbing the victim, while others move closer, kicking and throwing objects at him from close range. At one point, a large brick is thrown, knocking him down as he repeatedly tries to get back up.

The attack continues as another individual uses a wooden beam to strike the victim. People nearby can be heard shouting at the attackers, but no one steps in to stop the violence.

Hanover Park Community Outrage Grows Over ‘Stone-Throwing Gangs’

A community leader and anti-crime activist, who asked to remain anonymous, expressed outrage over the incident.

“This is a grown man who was not a gangster. According to my understanding, he apparently helped an old woman with her groceries, and when he came back, that was when he was allegedly attacked.

“He passed away on Friday morning.

“These are the usual stone throwers of Hanover Park.

“This is an injustice. The community of Hanover Park is sad and wants justice regarding this incident. It is brutal. How can someone still live after being attacked like that?

“Those boys who did that are not children, they are criminals. The one who took the video must also be arrested. I could not even finish watching the video because you don’t even attack a dog like that.”

”Please be advised that an inquest docket has been opened for investigation at Philippi police station. A post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death,” Mpendukana said.

No arrests have been confirmed at this stage, and investigations are ongoing.
