The case resulted from her repeated failure to comply with tax obligations between 2010 and 2023, including non-submission of tax returns and PAYE forms on behalf of her gqeberha company and its employees.
Years Of Non-Compliance
According to court records, Hayes was legally obligated to file tax returns and submit monthly PAYE contributions to SARS for over a decade.

Despite several warnings and reminders, she continuously failed to comply.

The joint operation with SARS culminated in a summons being issued on 12 December 2024.
Investigators confirmed that Hayes had knowingly withheld required submissions and payments, violating tax laws meant to ensure financial transparency and accountability.
