Mzansi Magic Clears Air On Alleged Diva Behaviours Of Former Miss SA Winners

Mzansi Magic has recently addressed swirling rumours regarding the behavior of former Miss South Africa winners, Shudufhadzo Musida and Ndavi Nokeri.

Reports claimed the duo exhibited diva tendencies while filming the drama series ‘Queen Modjadji,’ leading to their roles being reduced. The series, produced by Duma Ndlovu’s Rhythm World Productions, aired its debut episode on Sunday, 14 July, at 20:00.

A day after the show premiered, Zimoja reported that sources alleged Shudu and Ndavi were difficult to work with. The anonymous source suggested that the beauty queens expected pageant-style treatment on set.

“They clearly did not get the memo that they were working on a professional set with directors and producers, who call the shots. They did not understand the acting set-up. Because of their high demands, the producers decided to cut their stay short and give them cameo roles,” the source claimed.

However, Mzansi Magic was quick to deny these allegations. “Shudufhadzo Musida and Ndavi Nokeri were pleasant on set and bonded very well with the cast and crew of ‘Queen Modjadji,’” stated the channel.

The network also explained that the absence of Shudu and Ndavi at the show’s premiere was due to prior commitments, not because of any diva behaviour.

‘Queen Modjadji’ is an epic tale that delves into the legendary story of the first Queen Modjadji, the renowned rainmaker of the Balobedu clan.

The series highlights a matriarchal dynasty with a mystical gift to summon rain, securing the Balobedu royalty a prominent place in African history.

The cast features prominent actors including Thabo Bopape as Mambo Mugodo, Masutang Hope Rasekele as Dzungundini, and Makoma Mohale as Maselekwane (Queen Modjadji).

Initially, it was reported that Shudu would portray Muthanoni Mulalo, a king’s wife from the Vhavenda royal family, while Ndavi was set to play Muthanoni Khensani, another king’s wife from the Vatsonga royal family.

Despite the controversy, Mzansi Magic continues to stand by their statement, ensuring that Shudufhadzo Musida and Ndavi Nokeri were nothing but professional during the production of ‘Queen Modjadji.’
