Gogo Skhotheni Admits Using Muthi To Keep Her Man Loyal: “Once You’re In, You’ll Never Leave!”

This one is not for the faint-hearted. A throwback clip of Gogo Skhotheni has resurfaced and officially put the internet in a chokehold — and the timelines are arguing loudly.
The sangoma-turned-DJ, real name Tumi Motsoeneng, is trending after a video resurfaced where she openly admitted to using traditional medicine (muthi) to keep her ex-husband, Monde Shange, loyal.
The clip was reposted on 5 January 2025 by X (Twitter) user @busiwe_bubu, and let’s just say… people were NOT ready.
Gogo Skhotheni Says Muthi Was Used to “Protect Her Home”
In the resurfaced video, the well-known gobela casually confessed to using what she referred to as “chemical engineering” to secure her marriage.
According to Skhotheni, her method involved cutting herself on different parts of her body, claiming that anyone she slept with would become emotionally attached to her.
“Once you’re in, you’ll never leave. That means you and I would be in love.”

She further explained that even if her husband found other women attractive, the muthi would prevent him from acting on those urges — keeping him faithful.
And if that wasn’t enough to send jaws to the floor, Skhotheni added that she also made cuts near her ears, which she said ensured her partner would listen to her.
“He Already Loved Me” — Skhotheni Responds to Critics
Sensing the backlash before it even arrived, Skhotheni was quick to clarify that she did not use muthi to make Monde fall in love with her.
According to her, the attraction was already there.
“When Monde approached me, he was already attracted to me. There’s nothing new that I did to him. My use of the potion was to strengthen what we already had.”

However, despite what she believed was a secured union, the marriage came to an end in mid-2023, with Skhotheni confirming their separation in January 2024.
Reports later suggested the two had reconciled, but only to maintain a mature and friendly co-parenting relationship for the sake of their children.
The tragic passing of their son, Monde Jr, in September 2024 reportedly dealt a devastating blow to the pair, seemingly closing the chapter on any remaining closeness.
Mzansi Asks the Real Question: “So… Where Is Monde Now?”
As expected, the internet had opinions — and they were not gentle.
Many users questioned how the “once you’re in, you’ll never leave” logic added up when the marriage still ended.
@Blackkat_spopo wrote: “Well then, how did Monde leave? We are all the same; there’s nothing powerful about you guys.”
Others dragged Skhotheni for allegedly practising witchcraft while identifying as a born-again Christian.

@LMngunyana commented: “Nonsense, this is pure witchcraft. I don’t care that she tries to justify it.”
@BabimbaGirl added: “She plays too much. The last time I checked, she said she repented.”
And some questioned her spiritual alignment altogether.
@DavidMakhu473 asked: “Is she no longer a Christian? Did she backslide to her old profession?”
@sewelankoana wrote: “You can’t be a pastor and a sangoma at the same time and think straight.”
Is this just cultural honesty taken out of context — or did Gogo Skhotheni reveal way too much? And if the muthi was so powerful… why did the marriage still end?
