Gogo Maweni’s Name Dropped In Parliament — Cover-Up Claims, Murder Allegations

Things just got very serious. Reality TV star and traditional healer Gogo Maweni has found herself at the centre of a national conversation after her ongoing legal troubles were raised in Parliament, leaving South Africans sharply divided over what to believe — and who to trust.
During an Ad Hoc Committee sitting, Member of Parliament Ashley Sauls made explosive claims against the Gauteng SAPS, alleging that authorities may be protecting Maweni and suppressing her cases.
And just like that… the internet caught fire.
Parliament Weighs In as Gogo Maweni’s Court Drama Escalates
Sauls referenced Maweni’s multiple court appearances at the Protea Magistrates’ Court, where the Izangoma Zodumo star is facing assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm charges.
Maweni, who welcomed twins in 2025, last appeared in court on 22 October 2025, but the matter was postponed after court computer servers were reportedly down. A new date was set, and she is expected back in court on Wednesday, 21 January 2026, to allow further evidence to be gathered and presented.

According to Sauls, the matter goes far beyond administrative delays. He told the committee that Parliament cannot ignore the seriousness of the allegations and should intervene by probing how law enforcement has handled the cases linked to Maweni.
He alleged that:
- Some of Maweni’s alleged victims are under witness protection
- There is crucial information suggesting that Gauteng SAPS is shielding her
- Police are allegedly suppressing a murder case linked to Maweni
These claims, however, have not yet been tested in court.
What is confirmed is that Maweni was:
- Charged in connection with a 2019 assault case
- Also linked to a separate pending matter from 2017
Murder Allegations Surface — Mzansi Says “Bring Proof”
The controversy deepened after serious murder allegations emerged, linking Maweni to multiple alleged murder cases between 2020 and 2024 — claims that remain unproven at this stage.
Adding fuel to the fire, fellow traditional healer Patricia “Gogo Skhotheni” Motsoeneng publicly accused Maweni of involvement in two specific murder cases.
In a viral video, Gogo Skhotheni alleged that Gogo Maweni orchestrated the killing of her best friend’s husband, known as King Precious. She claimed Maweni manipulated events leading up to the incident and alleged that hitmen were involved. These allegations have not been confirmed by law enforcement or the courts.
Mzansi, however, is split right down the middle.
Some online users expressed outrage and demanded accountability, while others warned against trial by social media.
Here’s what people are saying:
- @TheJustCaused:
“Gogo Maweni was just flaunting cash on social media, rubbing salt into the wounds of the victim(s).” - @StarJay_23:
“So many allegations against GP police — these need to be investigated. Rotten apples must go.” - @ETshamugero:
“Why can’t he go to the nearest police station?” - @Gadfly342043:
“Parliament is not a tavern. Big claims, zero proof. Noise is not truth.”
Mzansi, what do you think — Is this a long-overdue spotlight on a serious issue… or politics and social media muddying the waters?
