Gauteng SAPS Probe Attempted Murder And Truck Arson On N3 Near Vosloorus

Police in Gauteng have launched investigations into attempted murder and malicious damage to property following a late-night attack on the N3 near Vosloorus in Ekurhuleni.

Three trucks were set alight during the incident on Wednesday night, with all vehicles and their cargo completely destroyed.

Authorities say the drivers escaped without injury after unknown suspects allegedly blocked the roadway and opened fire, in what is believed to be an attempted hijacking.

N3 Truck Arson Incident Near Vosloorus Sparks Police Investigation

Gauteng police spokesperson Noxolo Kweza confirmed that the suspects fled the scene and no arrests have been made at this stage.

The circumstances surrounding the attack remain under investigation as law enforcement works to establish the motive and identify those involved.

“Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Tommy Mthombeni has condemned the attack. He indicated that the lawlessness will not be tolerated and those responsible will be brought to book.

“Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward and report at their local police station or contact police on 08600 10111.”

Officials have urged members of the public with any relevant details to assist in the ongoing investigation.
