Violence In KZN

This incident is part of a concerning trend of gun violence in the region. Recent shootings in Amaoti and surrounding areas have left multiple victims, including a mass shooting at Tambo Plaza earlier this month, where five men were killed inside a house, and another was injured. Investigators suspect these crimes may have links to drug-related activities, though motivations often remain unclear.

A 22-year-old Ethiopian national was shot during a business robbery at a tuck shop on the corner of Fana Khumal Street and Zondi Way. The victim was robbed of cash, cellphones, and cigarettes, and the suspects fled in his vehicle.

In another incident, a driver was gunned down in Amoutana after being shot multiple times by occupants of a bakkie. The driver’s vehicle rolled down an embankment before colliding with a house.

Community members, shocked by the brutality, have called for stronger action against crime. KwaZulu-Natal police continue to investigate, urging anyone with information to come forward. Authorities stress the need for community collaboration to curb the rising violence.
