Thandi Ruth Magagula, a former safety risk officer at Eskom, has been convicted of corruption and fraud. The conviction was handed down by the Middelburg Specialised Commercial Crime Court, following Magagula’s guilty pleas to multiple charges.

Details of the Offences

Magagula was found guilty of seven counts of corruption and two counts of fraud, which stemmed from contracts exceeding R58,000 awarded to Mantoza Engineering Projects CC, a company she directed.

Despite being employed by Eskom at the time, Magagula failed to disclose her financial interests in the company to Eskom’s management.
