“Forever Supa Mega”-AKA’s Loved Ones And Fans Remember Him On His Death Anniversary

February 10, 2025, marks two years since South Africa lost one of its greatest hip-hop icons, Kiernan ‘AKA’ Forbes. The multi-award-winning rapper was gunned down on Florida Road, Durban, in a tragic assassination that shook the nation.

Leaving behind his parents, Tony and Lynn Forbes, his daughter Kairo Forbes, and his then-girlfriend Nadia Nakai, AKA was fatally shot outside Wish Restaurant alongside his close friend and former manager, celebrity chef Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane.

Justice for AKA: The Case Continues

The case surrounding his brutal murder is still ongoing. Five men—Lindokuhle Thabani Mkhwanazi, Lindani Zenzele Ndimande, Siyanda Eddie Myeza, Mziwethemba Harvey Gwabeni, and Lindokuhle Mhlaliseni—are facing murder charges. They are set to appear in court again on May 8, 2025.

As the world remembers Supa Mega, his mother, Lynn Forbes, took to Instagram with a touching metaphorical post: “There are mountains we prepare for, and mountains that find us. Both change us forever. Does this resonate with you?”
