Video circulating on social media shows a group of foreign nationals forcefully breaking into a government building in Johannesburg, despite it being sealed off by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD).

Foreign Nationals Breaking Into Building

This incident occurred in broad daylight at 65 De Villiers Street, Johannesburg CBD, where individuals defied authorities to reopen the building for use as a storage facility. Reports indicate that hawkers selling goods on the streets have been using the premises to store their merchandise.

According to reports the JMPD had previously shut down the building, restricting access, but the footage suggests that those affected took matters into their own hands. Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
