Four Foreign Nationals Arrested For Allegedly Shooting Community Members Amid Spaza Shop Closure Attempt

Four foreign nationals have been arrested for attempted murder following a shooting incident in Atteridgeville, Gauteng, on Monday. A 32-year-old man sustained injuries to his hand and leg during the altercation and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The incident reportedly occurred during a community-driven initiative to shut down foreign-owned spaza shops in the Saulsville area.

Police Respond to Shooting Incident

Police spokesperson Col Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi confirmed that officers responded to the scene after being alerted to the shooting.

“Upon arrival, members of the community informed police that Somali nationals inside a shop had allegedly shot one of the community members,” Nevhuhulwi stated.

The four men, who were found inside the shop, were taken into custody and are expected to appear in court soon. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are monitoring the situation closely.
