Five Dead As Greyhound Bus Overturns On R33 In Mpumalanga Horror Smash

Five people were killed on Monday when a Greyhound passenger bus crashed along the R33 between Amsterdam and Piet Retief in Mpumalanga.

Emergency teams rushed to the scene after reports that a Greyhound bus had overturned in the late afternoon.

Greyhound Overturns After Driver ‘Loses Control’

Road Traffic Management Corporation spokesperson Simon Zwane said the incident occurred at around 4pm. He confirmed that the bus overturned “after the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle and went off the road”.

He added that the exact cause of the crash will be determined through a full investigation.

According to Zwane, six passengers sustained serious injuries, while another 26 suffered minor wounds. Paramedics treated survivors on-site before transporting the severely injured to nearby medical facilities.
