Fire Tears Through Schoemansdal Police Station Offices, Probe Underway

An investigation is underway after a fire broke out at Schoemansdal police station on Thursday, 19 February 2026, at around midday.

According to preliminary information, SAPS members on duty noticed flames coming from two container units used as office spaces at the Schoemansdal Police Station and immediately reported the incident.

At the time of the fire, all police personnel were present at the station. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Emergency Services Contain Blaze

Firefighters and Emergency Services responded swiftly to the scene and managed to contain the blaze before it could spread further across the facility. Their quick action prevented additional damage to other structures at the station.
