Female Shot During Mall Robbery In KwaMashu

A shooting took place today, Sunday, at Bridge City Mall in KwaMashu, KZN, during a robbery.

A shopper contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Phoenix Operations Centre at 09:53, reporting gunshots being fired inside the mall.

RUSA immediately dispatched available officers to the scene.

Robbers Target Akermans Connect

Upon arrival, RUSA officers confirmed that a group of armed suspects had robbed the Akermans Connect store inside the mall.

The robbers fired shots using 9mm pistols and rifles while making their escape.

Female Victim Shot And Hospitalized

One female shopper was shot during the robbery.

She was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

At the time of filing this report, the extent of her injuries remains unknown.

The suspects are still at large, and investigations are underway.
