FCS Unit Arrests Suspected Serial Rapist Linked To 45 Cases In Diepkloof

Gauteng police have confirmed the arrest of a 41-year-old man allegedly connected to a string of violent crimes committed between 2008 and 2025. The crimes include rape, kidnapping, robbery, and assault, primarily in Diepkloof and Orlando.
According to police, 45 cases were reported during this period — 38 in Diepkloof, five in Orlando, and two in the North West Province.
The victims, women aged between 14 and 55, were attacked by a suspect who often used a firearm and a knife while concealing his identity with a balaclava and mask.
FCS Unit Leads Intensive Investigation
The Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit spearheaded the investigation. A specialized team from the National Head Office FCS, Gauteng Provincial FCS, and Orlando FCS collaborated to track down the suspect.
Their dedicated work culminated in the man’s arrest on Wednesday, 10 September 2025, in Diepkloof. Police confirmed that the suspect is due to appear before the Protea Magistrate Court on Monday, 15 September 2025.

The South African Police Service (SAPS) praised the victims for their courage and expressed appreciation for the commitment shown by the investigative team.
“The SAPS commends the bravery of the victims and the efforts of the investigative team. We continue to work tirelessly to ensure justice and safety for our communities,” the police statement read.
