Father Sentenced To Life Imprisonment For Raping His Son

A shocking case of paternal betrayal has resulted in a life sentence for a Lesotho citizen who raped his own son. The illegal immigrant was convicted and sentenced on Wednesday in the Ladybrand magistrate’s court.

In November 2021, the father took his young son with him to the mountains, ostensibly to dig for muti. However, what transpired during that fateful trip would forever scar the child.

The father, in a horrifying act of abuse, told the boy to “give him a little bit” and then proceeded to rape him.

The brave young victim reported the heinous crime to his stepmother, but tragically, she chose not to testify in court. Despite this obstacle, justice prevailed. Magistrate Johan van Zyl found the father guilty and handed down a life sentence for the rape. Additionally, the man was fined R3,500 or faced six months in prison for being in the country illegally.
