Fatal Shooting In Thembalethu Leaves A 53-Year-Old Man Dead, Another Injured

Thembalethu police have launched an urgent manhunt after a shooting incident in Zone 07, George, claimed the life of one man and left another wounded on Saturday, 30 August 2025, at around 22:30.

According to preliminary reports, an armed suspect entered the premises and opened fire on the occupants.

A 53-year-old man sustained gunshot wounds to the head and was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. A 55-year-old man, who suffered injuries to his head and body, was rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment.

Motive for Shooting Still Under Investigation

Authorities confirmed that the motive behind the attack remains unknown and is part of an ongoing investigation. Detectives are working tirelessly to track down the assailant and piece together the events that led to the deadly shooting.

Thembalethu Detectives have urged the community to assist in the investigation. “We call on anyone with information to come forward, as it could be vital in bringing the suspect to justice,” police said.
