Fans Shut Down Plans For AKA’s ‘Mbuzi’ Remix: “Respect Supa Mega”

The legacy of Kiernan “AKA” Forbes sparked heated debate this week after his team teased the possibility of remixing one of his most popular tracks, Mbuzi.

In a post shared from the late rapper’s official X account, the Megacy was asked to weigh in on the idea. The post read:

“Megacy …. Should we cook up Mbuzi Remix? Tag the rappers you would like to see jump on the track!”

Megacy Pushes Back Against Remix Idea

Instead of excitement, the announcement was met with a wave of rejection. Loyal fans urged the team to abandon the idea, insisting that tampering with the song would disrespect AKA’s artistry.

One fan bluntly commented: “No.. respect Supa Mega, it shouldn’t happen without him. Doesn’t he have unfinished songs that artists can complete for him? That’ll be better.”

Another suggested that the team focus on visuals rather than altering music: “No remix, just give us music videos for some songs on the album with random never seen before footage of Mega… I think that’s the closure we deserve as the Megacy.”

Some fans went even further, appealing directly to the rapper’s father, Tony Forbes, who many believe manages the account. One plea read: “Let the account rest, come on now Tony.”

With the Megacy standing firm against the remix, it seems the idea may have hit a dead end before it even began.
