Family Demands Justice For 19-Year-Old Lusanda Mathabela Brutally Murdered In Mpumalanga

Family and friends of 19-year-old Lusanda Mathabela, who was brutally murdered in her home in Mattafin, Mpumalanga, are pleading for justice.

Mathabela was allegedly stabbed to death by her ex-boyfriend and his friend on Monday. Both suspects have since been arrested and remanded in custody following a court appearance at the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

Her funeral service was held in Kanyamazane, and she was laid to rest in Rocky’s Drift, where loved ones gathered to say their final goodbyes.

Family Demands Harsh Punishment for Suspects in Lusanda Mathabela Murder

Speaking on behalf of the family, Mathabela’s uncle, Ali Sibiya, expressed deep grief and frustration, saying they want the perpetrators to remain behind bars.

“We pray the justice system will help us big time and make sure that these guys they don’t see light ever again because what they did is unimaginable. It is so out of this world, it’s unfair.

“They stole this child’s life; she was very young. We were not ready for this; we still hoped for a future for her,” said Sibiya.

As the community reels from the tragedy, many are calling for stronger measures against gender-based violence, ensuring that Lusanda’s death does not go unpunished.
