Faith Nketsi “Arrested” In Thailand? Here’s What Actually Happened On That Friendcation

Okay so listen, Faith Nketsi, South Africa’s queen of curves and reality TV royalty, allegedly had a close encounter with Thai law enforcement during what was supposed to be the ultimate girls’ trip.
The Have Faith star jetted off to Thailand’s glittering Phuket with her squad — Nadia Nakai, Bobby Blanco and the crew — and, eish, it seems like not everything went according to plan. So what exactly went down in the Land of Smiles?
The friendcation started fabulously, with Faith and her girls shutting down the YONA Beach Club near Royal Phuket Marina with moves that literally set social media on fire. But here’s where the plot thickens, bathong — an X clip allegedly showing Faith Nketsi’s arrest began circulating fast.

User @sanelenkosiii dropped the bombshell, revealing our girl got nabbed for vaping in public, writing: “Businesswoman Faith Nketsi was arrested on her vacation in Thailand for breaking their law and smoking Vape publicly.”
Now, before you choke on your rooibos — the arrest claim has not been confirmed. Faith carried on posting unbothered IG stories from the trip, later popped up at Dubai’s District 8 restaurant with the whole squad intact. However, the widely circulated video shows her lying insideA car in a red dress while her friends speak to the police.

Did Faith Nketsi Really Get Arrested In Thailand For Vaping?
Here’s the thing, and this is where it gets real — vaping in Thailand has been illegal since 2014, and 2025 saw an unprecedented crackdown ordered directly by the Prime Minister, with over 120,000 vapes seized and 690 people arrested in a single week.
This is not a country that plays, sisi! Street use alone can land you with an on-the-spot fine of between 20,000 and 30,000 Thai Baht during crackdown periods, and formal arrests are now more common than ever before, with police actively targeting tourist areas.
So the idea that Faith could have had a very uncomfortable run-in with Thai police? Completely plausible, hayibo!
One social media user, @Superliciousnes, however, pumped the brakes on the drama: “She was not arrested; she posted in her IG stories that they were nearly arrested, she continued with her vacation, and they are all back home.”
Nearly arrested is still close enough to send chills down your spine, wena! A near-miss in Thailand is not something you shake off with a cute Instagram story and a Dubai dinner — ask the French tourist who refused to pay a police bribe of 40,000 Baht, got formally arrested, had her passport seized, spent four nights in a prison cell, and was eventually deported — all over a vape.
Mzansi Reacts To Faith Nketsi’s Thailand Vape Scandal
And what did South Africans have to say about all of this? Eish, our people did NOT hold back — but surprisingly, the sympathy was basically non-existent! Mzansi came with the full facts and zero chill:
@MicahDaMusic said: “Nigerians think it’s AI when they see South Africans not defending a South African who did something wrong in another country, we are not outchea saying Thailand people are jealous and stupid.”
@LimpopoGirly shared: “Haibo, some countries are very strict, hey. But when we try to enforce our law in the country, we are called xenophobic.”

@MicahDaMusic questioned: “Businesswoman? Ooh not every country is like South Africa. We are fighting for our laws to be enforced! Thailand is tight, haha, yoh no smoking vape in Public.”
@Snupih exclaimed: “Thailand is super strict with enforcing its bylaws, even on tourists. One misconduct, it’s a businesswoman or not, there are exceptions with those guys, they’re super strict!”
@Melo_Malebo questioned: “And she’s a mother. I thought she’d tone down with that lifestyle for the sake of her daughter?”
@Jakeroemba stated: “You will go to Jail and they don’t care who you are. A famous streamer from America got arrested 2 months back in Asia.”
@Superliciousnes shared: “She was not arrested; she posted in her IG stories that they were nearly arrested, she continued with her vacation, and they are all back home.”
The verdict from the streets of Twitter (sorry, X)? Fame, followers and a fire body will get you absolutely nowhere in a Thai police station.
