Fadiel Adams Vows To Press Charges Against Shadrack Sibiya If Bribery Claims Prove True

National Coloured Congress (NCC) MP Fadiel Adams has declared that he will take legal action against suspended Deputy National Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Shadrack Sibiya if corruption allegations raised at the Madlanga Commission turn out to be true.

The commission heard explosive claims this week, including a recorded confession from attempted murder accused Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala, who allegedly admitted to paying Sibiya up to R1 million a month in cash.

A detective identified as Witness C, linked to Gauteng’s counterintelligence operations, made the revelation during the ongoing proceedings.

Speaking to SABC News outside the Cape Town Central Police Station, Adams said he was determined to uncover the truth behind the shocking claims.

“I am aware of the allegations, we are looking for proof, we are looking for something tangible to bring to SAPS. Secondly, if General Sibiya has done anything, somebody send me a document. I’ll lay the charge against him,” he said.

Adams Already Pursuing Action Against Another Top Cop

Earlier this week, Adams laid perjury charges against KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi at the same police station. His latest statement signals his growing frustration with alleged corruption within South Africa’s law enforcement leadership.

The outspoken MP has repeatedly criticised the police service for what he calls “a lack of accountability” among senior officials, vowing to take every legal step necessary to hold them responsible.

Allegations Rock Police Leadership

The Madlanga Commission continues to expose troubling allegations involving senior police figures, raising questions about the integrity of top-ranking officers.

As the inquiry proceeds, Adams has made it clear he expects swift and transparent action from authorities if the claims against Sibiya are substantiated.
