Ex-Boyfriend Arrested Over Brutal Killing Of 25-Year-Old Entle Manzi

Ex-boyfriend, Mihlali Tuoane, 24, was arrested and appeared before the Bellville Magistrates Court on Wednesday in connection with the murder of 25-year-old Entle Manzi.

He was taken into custody on Tuesday following the fatal stabbing of Manzi in Parow Valley, Cape Town, in the early hours of Monday morning.

Police Investigate Ex-Boyfriend After Fatal Stabbing in Parow Valley

Police spokesperson Wesley Twigg confirmed that a murder case had been opened.

“Parow police registered a murder case for investigation following a stabbing incident on Monday, 30 March 2026, at about 12.25am, in Mark Street, Parow Valley, where a female was stabbed and fatally injured.

“The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation. We can confirm that a 24-year-old male was arrested in connection with the murder on Tuesday, 30 March 2026.”

It is alleged that Manzi had visited Tuoane at his residence in Parow Valley, where the incident took place. She was declared dead at the scene by medical personnel, and the knife believed to have been used was recovered.

Emotional Court Scenes as Family Reacts

The courtroom was filled with relatives, friends and supporters of the victim, with proceedings marked by emotional outbursts.

Manzi’s father, Bekisizwe Manzi, told the court he had never met the accused prior to seeing him in the dock.

“I was at work when I received a call from the manager of my daughter’s workplace who said that the detective is looking for her parents, this was after 11am.

“Police found her work tag at the scene. Apparently she and the boyfriend work at the same place.

“When I asked the manager why the detective was looking for me, he said they couldn’t tell me anything. I have to wait for the call. “[He was] her first boyfriend but I never met him. As a father I did not want to meet him but he met her mother.

“This incident killed all of us as a family. This is going to affect us for the rest of our lives. She was our eldest daughter.”

He further expressed frustration with the justice system: “I am angry even before this case because I have seen this happening and you cry with families of other victims until one day it happens to you. Unfortunately, I am one of the victims today.

“The justice system is failing us, no one fears going to jail. Criminals seem to have more rights than us but you won’t understand it unless it happens to you. I will never be the same again.”

Defence Claims Self-Defence as Details Emerge

The court heard that neighbours allegedly heard screams before seeing the accused fleeing through a window.

During proceedings, the defence argued that the incident was an act of self-defence. Tuoane showed the magistrate alleged stab wounds on his hands, wrist and thigh.

This drew strong reactions from those in attendance, with some accusing him of “playing the victim”. One woman left the courtroom, saying: “I cannot watch this”.

Manzi’s father became overwhelmed during the hearing, shouting repeatedly before being escorted out, as others in court broke down in tears.
