The South African music industry will forever remember Zahara, a talented artist whose music continues to touch hearts. The late star, who tragically passed away on 11 December last year at just 36, has been posthumously nominated for top awards at the SA Afro Music Awards.
Zahara is in the running for the prestigious Best Female Afro Soul Artist of Democracy award. She is nominated alongside other renowned artists such as Zonke, Siphokazi, Judith, and Moneoa.

Her debut album, Loliwe, has also been nominated for the Best Afro Album of Democracy. This 2011 masterpiece is up against other significant albums such as Ina Ethe by Zonke, Zabalaza by Thandiswa Mazwai, Lira Live in Concert, and A Cry, A Smile, A Dance by Judith Sephuma.

The 5th edition of the SA Afro Music Awards will take place on 26 October at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni. According to organiser China Mpololo, everything is on track to make this event one of the biggest in Mzansi.
