In a heartwarming turn of events, the Duma Ndlovu Actor’s Academy has reached out to the iconic South African actor, Carlo Radebe.

This comes after Radebe’s friend, Mauritz Neethling, appealed to fans for support as the talented thespian fell on hard times. Radebe lost his livelihood and was evicted from his former residence, and now resides on a remote smallholding outside Johannesburg.

Neethling highlighted the dire situation Radebe finds himself in, relying solely on a government grant of only R350 per month. This meager amount is nowhere near enough to support him in getting back on the radar of casting agents, sending video audition clips, or even meeting his basic needs such as food and communication expenses.

Neethling made a heartfelt plea, asking fans to find it in their hearts to help Radebe in any way they can, to help him regain his dignity and break free from the dark tomb he currently finds himself in.

A day later, the academy joyfully announced that they had successfully found Radebe. Their Facebook post read, “We are happy to report that we found him last night. Bless your hearts. ‘Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu. I am because we are. Motho ke motho ka batho ba bangwe.'”

Radebe, deeply moved by the overwhelming support, expressed his gratitude on his Facebook account. He thanked Mzansi (a term used to refer to South Africa) for the support he received since the release of his statement, guided by his friend Mauritz Neethling.

He acknowledged the devotion and dedication shown by Neethling and promised to pay it forward perpetually. Radebe expressed his eagerness to get back on set and resume shooting, believing that with God’s grace, everything will work out. He also thanked those who used their platforms to bring attention to his situation, humbled by their efforts.
