“Plenty of research went into putting the show together and in the end, we are happy to say we have a good product to show and tell,” Maqoma said.
“Smoke and Mirrors” opens a realm that hasn’t been explored before, and the combination of this story and actors will absolutely blow our audience’s imaginations away,” says Helga Palmer, Head of Local Programming.
In Mzansi Magic’s Gomora, Zolisa Xaluva played the no-nonsense headmaster. He quit the show at the conclusion of Season 2.
When asked why he departed the programme, Xaluva stated that production began diverging from what his character initially stood for.
Speaking about why he left Gomora, Zolisa Xaluva said, “Part of the reasons I left the show was that they kind of deviated from the original concept of him being pure and a good man.
“We had conversations about what we were going to do for season 3 but ultimately we were like let’s park it for now until we can find a way where we can redeem the character for the future.”
Smoke & Mirrors premiers Monday, 17 April at 9 PM.
