Omuhle Gela has decided to leave Uzalo with immediate effect. She confirmed her departure from the SABC 1 drama is a result of a disagreement with management.
It’s that she opted not to attend a shoot after “production made some changes to her contract.” According to a source close to the actress, what irritated Omuhle was moving from Johannesburg to KwaZulu-Natal for the show only to be given a contract with “different terms than what was initially agreed upon.”
Production is said to have come to a halt. She returned to the small screen when joining season 8 of the show in February, playing the role of smart and calculating Nomaswazi Magwaza, the daughter of Njinji (played by Thembi Nyandeni).
Omuhle posted on her Instagram timeline: “I’ve made the decision to leave the show with immediate effect; everything said in this article is 100% true and I have nothing further to add or dispute.”
