Actor and TV personality with a diverse range of skills, Kay Sibiya is no stranger to the world of television, having appeared in a number of other local productions. Sibiya will officially join the e.tv Family as Nkululeko Bhengu in the late-night drama Imbewu The Seed.
Kay will make his Imbewu surprise appearance on Wednesday, February 16th, at 21.30hours, alongside a slew of other well-known faces. Already a fan favorite, Nkululeko is currently investigating the murder case involving his mother’s death, and he is about to learn the awful news.

Kay can’t wait to contribute to the proudly South African storyline, which is watched by over 4 million people every day. Imbewu viewers are enamored with the story, and the viewership figures reflect this. On the 11th of February, Imbewu also celebrated its 1000th episode. Helga Palmer, Head of Local Programming at eMedia says, “This is a proud milestone for the production and we are incredibly pleased with the support of our viewers. We hope to keep our loyal viewers entertained with many more gripping episodes.”
Kay Sibiya was most recently seen on The Wife, where he portrayed Sandile. His character, however, was killed off in the season finale. Season two of the smash hit show has just been confirmed by Showmax.

Kay Sibiya takes over for Nkanyiso Mchunu, who previously played Nkuleleko on Imbewu. Nkanyiso recently confirmed his departure on his Facebook page. He didn’t say why he left the show, but he did thank the production for giving him the chance to show off his acting skills.

He wrote, “This is me signing out… Myself and Imbewu have decided to end our working relationship. I’d like to thank the production for the opportunity and platform to showcase what I can do.. Ngyabonga kuwo wonke umuntu who supported me throughout this journey”
Imbewu has been losing talent at an alarming rate recently. Phindile Gwala and Buhle Samuels left the soapie less than three months ago. Apparently, the show’s new producers were unimpressed with Phindile’s acting abilities and decided to fire her. She later returned with guns blazing to clear the air about her exit. She claimed she had not been fired, but she had decided to retire.
