Well, it looks like Zandie Khumalo’s husband, Mhlo Gumede, is about to add a new chapter to their love story. Yep, Zandie, who tied the knot with Mhlo in 2016 and has since welcomed a kid, is set to experience polygamy firsthand as Mhlo prepares to take a second wife.
According to Zimoja, a trusted insider spilled the beans: the soon-to-be second wife is none other than the late Zanele Mbokazi’s niece, Nonjabulo Mdluli.
This isn’t some secret under-the-radar deal, though. Apparently, the families have already met and even had a welcoming ceremony a few days before Zanele passed away. It’s all very official and above board.
Zandie, who you might know as Kelly Khumalo’s sister, recently shared in an interview that she’s all for polygamy. ‘I grew up in a polygamous home, so I’m totally down for it,’ she said.
Zandie dropped some pearls of wisdom about her love for Mhlo. She said, ‘My husband loves me dearly and I love him even more. If he gets sick, I feel like I’m sick too.’ Now that’s what we call relationship goals. She also mentioned that while discussing lobola, they acknowledged the possibility of a second wife entering the scene.

When asked about the soon-to-be new bride Nonjabulo, Zandie was quick to show support. ‘I wouldn’t want to comment about Nonjabulo; she’s going through a tough time right now. We as a family support her fully during this grieving period,’ she said.
And as for the many-wife situation, Zandie seems pretty chill about it. ‘It’s nice when you have a sister wife and the Gumede house is big. I need all the help I can get.’
